The Words of the Afterwordly

‘The resurrection,’ Paul says. The resurrection, the res-resurec-resurection, it sounds like an Italian word. A word pulled from Raphael’s paintings of the Madonna. Imagine if the word actually rose from out of the painting! Sitting there, beside us, what would you do? I would greet the word, use my gift of gab, I’d start a little conversation. Then, I’d ask the question. ‘Resurrection? Are you kidding, there is nothing to know about it.’ Paul says. ‘It is unquestionable like the ground we stand upon.’

‘Don’t waste your time.’
